SCHEDULE INFORMATION Friday, August 1, 20085:00-6 pm Late Registration6:00 pm “Taste of Pensacola Beach”—Heavy Hors D’oeuvres 5:30-7:30 pm Raffle Tickets On Sale. Buy a ticket for $1 each or 6 tickets for $5 for a chance to win wonderful prizes donated by local businesses. 7:30 pm Skippers Meeting All Skippers or a boat representative must attend. Goodie bags will be given to Skippers or boat representative in attendance. Skippers or boat representative are responsible for disseminating these items to their entire crew. No goodie bags will be given out Saturday. Immediately following Skippers Meeting Raffle Begins. Saturday, August 2, 2008Noon Race Begins Sunday, August 3, 200810 am Race Begins OTHER INFORMATION The weekend of Race for the Roses will be an especially busy one for Pensacola Beach. There is a huge foot race in conjunction with the annual Bushwacker Festival scheduled that will bring many visitors to the island this same weekend so plan accordingly. Parking: Please note that due to the numerous events going on during the weekend, parking may be an issue. There is public parking within walking distance at the Visitor’s Information Center, Quietwater, and Casino Beach parking lots. Boat Launching: There is a public boat ramp available at Shoreline South in Gulf Breeze (only minutes from the race course). Launch is located directly across the street from South Santa Rosa Recreation Center at 800 Shoreline Drive. Launch fee is $5.00. Registration: Please note that all registrants are requested to list all participating crew members. T-shirts: T-shirts will be available for purchase at $15 each. Need A Boat? Need Crew? If you are looking for a boat to skipper, boat to crew on, or crew for your boat please contact Race for the Roses Chairperson and Boats/Crew Coordinator, Ellen Hunt at 850-712-4203. Accommodations: PBYC has only one transient boat slip. For information on how to secure this slip you may contact PBYC Dock and Facilities Manager, Steve Headley at 850-723-1928. Sabine Marina may have a few slips available for rent. If you are interested, please contact, Sabine Marina Dock Master Jerry Podojil at 850-748-3507 as soon as possible for fees and reservation. There are many Hotels/Motels and Condominiums on the island.
