Junior Sailing Instructions


Class Goals: FUN… SAFETY… AND EDUCATION

Class Dates:   July 5-9, 2005

Class Content:

The Sailing Basics class includes lessons in the basic principles of sailing for beginners then progresses through intermediate skills and ends with a fun introduction to racing. The Advanced Sailing class provides a higher level of instruction for students who are already proficient sailors and focuses on open water sailing, navigation, and racing skills. Students will be introduced to the Optimist, Sunfish, 420 and Flying Scot and trained in the boat(s) that best match his or her physical size, age, and skill level. We realize some students may be 11 or older and be at the beginner or basic level. These students will practice basic skills in boats appropriate for their size and skill level.

Class Requirements:

Water and ice chests will be available to refill water bottles and store sack lunches.
