Special Notes
1. PHRF Big Mouth competitors may not use spinnakers, bloopers, drifters, code
0’s, or other similar sails. If there is a question about the use of a
particular type of sail, it is to be considered illegal. Questions should be
directed to the Race Committee and the final decision is at the discretion
of the Race Committee. There is no limit to the number of jibs, mainsails, or
staysails, etc. hoisted and used at any time. Multiple tack systems can be
created between two bow cleats, stanchions, or other similar boat parts. When
multiple sails are used the sail/sails are not required to be fed into “tuff
Luff” type systems or in the mast track. Spinnaker poles, Whisker poles, or
other pole devices are permitted for use. RRS 2009 – 1012 rule 50 shall be
deleted for this regatta. The winner of the Big Mouth Trophy will be the first
PBYC boat to finish in the Non-spinnaker Class sailing the long course to the
sea buoy. Multihull boats are not eligible for the Big Mouth Trophy.
2. Multihulls are not required to honor the shoal marks identified in the
Pensacola Bay Sailing Instructions. The winner of the Multihull Big Mouth award
will be the first PBYC boat to finish in the Multihull Class sailing the long
course to the sea buoy.
3. Creative Wager Award: There will be a prize for the most creative wager
between two boats. The wager is required to be made the previous night at PBYC
prior to or after the Skippers' Meeting. At this time the wager must be set
between the boats and the Race Committee notified.
